About the Studio
Red Thorn Tattoo is located in the heart of the Station North Arts District, just a block away from Penn Station, the lightrail, and historic Charles Theater. We offer the highest quality of tattooing, covering a wide range of styles. While we mainly do custom work, you are always welcome to bring in your own design. Our artists are friendly and courteous, and will always make the quality of your tattoo their top priority. We take appointments in advance, but always accept walk-ins when space is available. 3-4 months ago, asked Ryan Arnold to do a custom design from a reference photo. He agreed to do it and I met him in the shop for the design, as well as the tattoo (same day). It took him only 30 minutes to complete. I swear, he really was rushing through it and there was no reason to rush.
My tattoo is basically healed at this point and the ink is still falling out from his light hand! The linework is EXTREMELY shaky and incredibly inconsistent. There are parts where the lines disconnect because the ink is just fading rapidly when it shouldn't be. It's also obvious where he stopped and started up again. There are many lines where it's just horribly blown out and I'd say he's responsible.
I am extremely disappointed in his work on my body compared to the pieces he exhibits on his website. I am already looking into laser removal for this one because every great artist I've contacted said it wasn't possible to fix his work to match the original reference.
Just go somewhere else!
